Arrival & Departure

Summer Camps

Camps sessions run from Sunday afternoon through Friday after supper. Registration will be open from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Please plan to arrive during that time. If you will be arriving later than 5:00 pm, please call us. The camp session will end after a picnic supper and short program on Friday evening. Parents and other family members are invited to this supper, which will start promptly at 5:30 pm. All campers should arrange to be picked up in time to leave the Camp no later than 7:00 pm on Friday.

Note: There is no charge for parents and friends who come for the Friday night picnic supper. However, a box will be available for any who wish to donate to the cost of the meal.

Weekend Camps

Spring and Fall Weekend camps will begin after supper on Friday, around 7pm. They will end after lunch on Sunday. Please plan to depart no later than 1:30 pm on Sunday.

Note: Some weekend camp sessions may end on a different day than Sunday or at a different time than noted above. Please refer to the Schedule or Registration Form for exact start and end dates.

What to Bring

Some items may not apply to non-summer weekend camps.

  • Bible
  • Notebook and Pen and/or Pencil
  • Personal toiletries (soap, shampoo, etc.)
  • Bedding, such as sleeping bag, pillow, sheets, blanket
  • Minimum of 2 towels and 1 washcloth (beach towel if desired)
  • Modest swimsuits (no two-piece, high-thigh, or low-cut swimsuits) & a cover-up for the girls
  • Camera and film
  • Fishing equipment (not required)
  • Dirty Clothes Bag
  • Flip Flops or Water Shoes
  • Extra pair of Tennis Shoes
  • Hat or SunVisor
  • Jacket and/or Rain Poncho
  • Flashlight
  • Plastic Water Bottle with name on it
  • Bug Spray
  • Sunscreen (Spray-On Preferred)
  • Water shoes for the Iceberg
  • Enough clothes marked with your name for the entire camp session (laundry facilities are not available).

What Not to Bring

  • Knives
  • Guns
  • Fireworks
  • CD, DVD, or MP3 players, cassette, computers, cell phones, any other electronic equipment
  • Illegal substances
  • Alchoholic or tobacco products
  • Skateboards
  • Snacks, gum, etc.

Dress Code

Dress codes are often unpopular. However, in today’s society, we believe that some guidelines are necessary. At Hickory Cove Bible Camp, we ask all campers to respect Biblical principles by adhering to our rules of conduct. We recognize the importance of modest appearance in showing respect for each other and to God in how we dress and act. Therefore, we expect all campers and visitors to adhere to the following guidelines, which will be enforced.

Men and Boys: No short-shorts. Shorts should be mid-thigh length or longer. Tank tops are allowed only during sports. Shirts must be worn everywhere except the swimming pool.

Women and Girls: Dresses and skirts should be at least knee-length or longer. No short-shorts. Shorts should be mid-thigh length or longer. No spaghetti strap tank tops. No tight-fitting tops of any kind. Shirts must be long enough to tuck in. No bare midriffs. No two-piece or high-thigh cut bathing suits.

All Campers and Staff: Neat clothes for Chapel. Modest swimsuit for water sports. No torn jeans.
