Financial Aid 2019

NEED-BASED FINANCIAL AID FOR SUMMER CAMP

It is our desire that no child miss out on a Hickory Cove summer camp experience because of financial circumstances. Hickory Cove financial aid, in the form of partial scholarships, is made possible every year through the generous donations of individuals and organizations to our 19:14 Scholarship Fund. We are thrilled to be able to provide a number of need-based scholarships each summer so children can experience camp and receive an opportunity to grow closer to God!

Although we try to meet the needs of all families who apply, financial aid is based upon availability of funds; therefore, scholarships will only be awarded up to 50% and will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis for qualifying families. The following is taken into consideration when determining if a family qualifies for financial aid assistance: income, household size, commitments fulfilled for previously awarded Hickory Cove financial aid (if applicable), and individual circumstances. Helping us understand these circumstances will allow us to make a better decision regarding your request.

The scholarship application (which can be accessed through the online summer camp registration) is to be filled out by the parent or guardian of the camper (unless camper is 18 or older) applying for assistance. A deposit for each camper is due during online checkout regardless of requesting financial assistance or not. (If the scholarship is not awarded to an applicant, the deposit will be refunded.) If approved for a partial scholarship, any remaining balance is due at check-in for your child’s session. Scholarships will NOT be awarded for the Trading Post.

 HOW IT WORKS

Hickory Cove offers summer camp scholarships in the form of partnerships with camper families. This encourages families to take ownership of their child’s camp experience by participating in the life and ministry of Hickory Cove. Each family who is awarded a scholarship agrees to the following:

  1. A thank you card written and sent by the scholarship recipient (child) no later than August 19, 2019. (Families will receive additional details after their child’s camp.)
  2. One parent or legal guardian volunteering to assist with a minimum of one of the following Saturday morning ‘Camp Clean-Up’ days. (Specific times and details will be sent out prior to your selected date(s).)
    1. Saturday, June 29
    2. Saturday, July 6
    3. Saturday, July 13
    4. Saturday, July 20
    5. Saturday, July 27

If you are unable to participate in the above partnership but would still like to request scholarship assistance, we’d be more than happy to discuss other options with you. Just give us a call at 828-632-2987 or email us at info@hickorycove.org.
