John Russell – Executive Director

John, along with his wife, Marcia are no strangers to Hickory Cove with John previously serving as Vice President and Camp Administrator for the ministry from 2002-2003.

In his 15-year absence from Hickory Cove, he served in various capacities in the IT department at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store headquarters in Lebanon, TN. His most recent position as Manager of Infrastructure Operations allowed him to lead a department of 10 employees and manage the budget for his department.

It has long been John’s desire to serve in full-time ministry, and he believes the Lord has prepared him for his return to Hickory Cove as Executive Director through his leadership and financial and personnel experiences at Cracker Barrel.

John and Marcia have made their home in Alexander County and fellowship at East Taylorsville Baptist Church. They are the proud parents of three adult children — Zack (and his wife, Ashley), Nathan, and Kaetlyn.
