Tiered Pricing
What is Tiered Pricing?
Tiered Pricing is intended to help families recognize how much a week or weekend at camp costs and then pick the price that is most appropriate for their circumstances. Families may freely choose to participate at any tiered level offered. The tier selected is completely confidential and every child and family will receive the exact same camp experience regardless of the level that is chosen. For families who can not afford any of the tiers offered, additional financial assistance in the form of camp scholarships may also be available.
At Tier 1 levels some payments may qualify as tax-deductible donations. The amount of the contribution that is deductible for federal income tax purposes is limited to the amount of any money contributed over the fair market value of services provided by Hickory Cove. Tier 1 payments for a week of camp are typically $100 more than fair market value. Of course, always feel free to contribute additional amounts. Like Tier 1 payments, any amount that exceeds fair market value may be deductible.
So what are the different tiers?
TIERED PRICING: ONE WEEK OF CAMP
- TIER 1 – TRUE COST + DONATION TO REINVEST IN THE MINISTRY
This is our rate that not only most closely reflects the TRUE COST of providing a week of camp (food, summer staff, utilities, insurance, maintenance, etc.) for your child, but also includes a tax-deductible charitable donation of $100 to reinvest in the ministry to help grow and improve Camp for your child (programming, facilities, etc.), as well as help other children who need financial assistance continue to receive opportunities to attend Hickory Cove.
- TIER 2 – THE TRUE COST OF CAMP
This is our rate that most closely reflects the TRUE COST of providing a week of camp (food, summer staff, utilities, insurance, maintenance, etc.) for your child. Please consider Tier 2 whenever possible so Hickory Cove can continue to provide a well-maintained camp with highly qualified staff and relevant programs for your child. - TIER 3 – HISTORICALLY DISCOUNTED RATE
This is our historically DISCOUNTED RATE, and does not reflect the true cost of operating one week of camp at Hickory Cove for your child. The money you save with this discounted rate is made up by donations from generous supporters of the ministry. - TIER 4 – FURTHER REDUCED RATE
This is our FURTHER REDUCED RATE to make Hickory Cove affordable to as many families as possible. We believe no child should miss out on camp due to an inability to pay. The money you save with this further reduced rate is made up by donations from generous supporters of the ministry. Additional financial aid may also be available.
TIERED PRICING: ONE WEEKEND OF CAMP
- TIER 1 – TRUE COST + DONATION TO REINVEST IN THE MINISTRY
This is our rate that not only most closely reflects the TRUE COST of providing a weekend of camp (food, supplies, utilities, insurance, etc.), but also includes a tax-deductible charitable donation* to reinvest in the ministry to help grow and improve Camp for your family (programming, facilities, etc.), as well as help other children who need financial assistance continue to receive opportunities to attend Hickory Cove. *The amount of the Tier 1 payment that is eligible as a tax-deductible charitable donation is limited to the amount of any money contributed over the Tier 2 price (“The True Cost of Camp”).
- TIER 2 – THE TRUE COST OF CAMP
This is our rate that most closely reflects the TRUE COST of providing a weekend of camp (food, supplies, utilities, insurance, etc.) if there were no donations to help with operating the camp. Please consider Tier 2 whenever possible so Hickory Cove can continue to provide a well-maintained camp with highly qualified staff and relevant programs for your child and family. - TIER 3 – HISTORICALLY DISCOUNTED RATE
This is our historically DISCOUNTED RATE and does not reflect the true cost of operating a weekend of camp at Hickory Cove. The money you save with this discounted rate is made up by donations from generous supporters of the ministry. Additional financial aid may also be available.
Again this program is voluntary and in no way influences the experience campers receive, yet it offers the opportunity for families to take an active role in supporting the true cost of their child’s and/or family’s camp experience.
